Consultation & Quotation

Meichen staff pride themselves on delivering considered solutions that meet the evolving needs of architectural design trends.

What sets Meichen apart is the belief that every customer and every product requires a personalised solution. Meichen staff are highly capable and committed professionals who will guide you through the specification process to ensure an optimal, high performance, custom solution is achieved. Your particular site, solar orientation and any existing regulatory requirements will be considered to deliver the best result for your home or project. Familiarising yourself with the different products Meichen manufactures prior to your consultation can be beneficial by visiting the window solutions and door solutions pages. Each product page features extensive information including image carousels and a 3D interactive spin that highlights key features and demonstrates the product’s operation.

What to bring to your consultation

It is highly recommended that you book an appointment in advance, so your consultant is prepared for your visit. If an architect or designer has already prepared project documentation (such as plans and elevations, which are usually accompanied by a window and door schedule); then it’s recommended you bring these along with any inspiration you may have gathered. Providing this information to your consultant along with any site requirements such as the N-rating (wind load rating) and the Bushfire Attack Level (BAL) category will ensure your meeting is highly productive.

What to expect during your consultation

Your showroom consultation is likely to be between 60 – 90 minutes to provide ample time for your Rylock Sales Consultant to explain the performance, demonstrate the functionality and specify the placement of each individual product. Customers are welcome to engage with the various product types and hardware options on display. This is also the right time to address any thermal comfort, noise, privacy and security requirements you may have. Product frame colour should be considered alongside the remaining building materials during the design stage of your project. Customers receive aluminium samples to take home during their consultation, and our team is happy to provide guidance in your selection from Meichen’s 30 standard powder coat colours and textures.

What to expect in your quotation paperwork

Following your consultation, you will be provided with a quote in an agreed timeframe. This document outlines information concerning the site requirements and product selection, including (but not limited to) powder coat colour, energy report information and a graphical representation of each product as viewed from the exterior. Each item displays the individual product size, reveal type and depth, hardware, glazing and flyscreen mesh selection displayed within the quote. As well as stud opening height and width, and product weight information. Should your quotation proceed to a sales order, Meichen has a comprehensive library of building-in resources, and our staff are happy to provide sample extrusions to assist builders by demonstrating recommended best-practice installation methods. Meichen staff welcome the opportunity to provide you with a complimentary consultation and quotation to provide a tailored solution for your home or project
